As Per IRDAI (Regulatory and Development Authority of India)
– In Financial Year 2014-15, 74.79 lakh health policy were renewed but now
92.67 lakh is remaining for renew. The
renewed health insurance policies are 80% of all health policies.
The press statement issued by the ministry of health and
family welfare states that there may be various extraneous factors that may
prompt the policy holders for not renewing the policies like affordability to
